And straight onto the following night and the ever popular Mr Kyps in Poole. Got there nice and early for a sound check with the Kyps sound engineer, then off for a nice Chinese (how civilised), then back to the venue in time for the local support band, Electric Panda. Top support – thanks boys!
Always good playing a venue like Kyps as no need to worry about the onstage sound as that’s taken care off by a couple of very nice chaps in a booth (does that sound dodgy?). Amps up to 11? Spencer’s badly printed set lists on stage? 6 guitars, 4 microphones, 2 basses and one drum kit on stage? Check, check, 1, 2…Let’s begin….
Did a 90 minute set tonight to a very good turn out given it’s that first weekend of the year, so the boys were well chuffed, and judging by the reaction of the audience, so were they. Even Rob smiled at one stage, and Graham got so into it, he kept playing the chorus in Bartender when he should really have gone into the verse part again. Spencer’s hair is looking BIG for 2012…:). Apart from that, managed to play nice and tight tonight helped by a big sound on stage. It’s no good creating a big sound if no-one’s ‘up for it’ and the crowd certainly were still in the swing of the Xmas celebrations and spirit. Top job.
Encores done, gear packed up – now back home in time for tea and medals. Top job everyone.
